Derby-based Specialist Contractor, Cawarden, is delighted to once again be sponsoring the Derby Christmas lunch in aid of the Construction Industry Charity, the Lighthouse Club. The event is taking place at the Derby County Cricket Club and will be an opportunity to celebrate getting together once again with good food, friends, entertainment and prizes.
Cawarden representatives are pleased to be joining the festivities today alongside hundreds of other industry supporters for the annual Christmas lunch. It is set to raise much-needed funds for the Charity, supporting their vital work to provide emotional, physical and financial wellbeing support to construction workers and their families.
To mark the sponsorship, Cawarden this morning unveiled its brand new 15-tonne LiuGong demolition spec machine (915Fcr Zero tail swing) at the venue. Complete with the Lighthouse Club’s branding, the machine will be proudly on display throughout the day at the entrance to the glittering marquee within the grounds of the cricket club.
The machine is the very first of its kind in the UK! So, Christmas really has come early for Cawarden. After the event, it will make its way to its first demolition job in Nottingham where it will be put to work for the very first time – 100% powered by Green D+ HVO (Hydro-treated Vegetable Oil), the clean alternative to red diesel.
William Crooks, Managing Director of Cawarden and President of the NFDC, said:
“We are absolutely thrilled to be the main sponsor of the Lighthouse Club’s Derby Christmas Lunch. As a business we have been fortunate to have successfully navigated our way through the pandemic – all whilst continuing to grow, expanding our team and developing new client relationships. And I am proud our achievements have been recognised with several external accolades. But one of the greatest rewards of our success is that we can support an organisation such as the Lighthouse Club – who have worked tirelessly to support our industry throughout this tough time. We are therefore delighted to be a part of this very special fundraising event.”
Darren Lowe, Secretary at the Lighthouse Club
“Thank you to Cawarden for their second year of sponsorship and tremendous support for the Derby Christmas lunch – which we hold annually in aid of the Lighthouse Club. The machine and stand look superb!”
Cawarden and the National Federation of Demolition Contractors (NFDC) both have stands on display at the event – and there are plenty of freebies and merchandise up for grabs!
The NFDC’s support for the charity is longstanding and makes regular donations to help fund their vital work. The Lighthouse Club also helps to administer the NFDC’s Benevolent fund.
